art for one celebrates…

one being. I strive to convey the wonder of a being - human, animal, or object - on each illustration. I hope giving and receiving it will help you appreciate the inherent specialness of one’s being.

one tree. I choose environmentally friendly and local options whenever possible.

one life. I share a portion of the proceeds for causes that save and nurture lives, such as animal rescue and anti-slavery.

Ever since my late dog Sabana crossed over the rainbow bridge I had always wanted an illustration of her to hang in my home and be reminded of her beauty, elegance, and stoic energy on a daily basis. When I commissioned Seon Joo I never dreamed how accurately she would capture and replicate my “heart dog.” I am forever grateful that when I see this stunning illustration in my home I am reminded of not only a beautiful physical being that my dog once was but also the heart and thoughtfulness that Seon Joo put into portraying my Sabana. Thank you so so much!

Many artists can create beautiful images, but few can also do what Seon Joo can do ... capture the spirit of your loved one and bring out personality. She really cares about her work, to draw something with meaning. I will always cherish her creations of my two dogs that have since passed.

Seon Joo made a beautiful portrait of our beloved rescue pitbull mix, Rufus. It is beautiful and brings us joy every time we see it hanging in our home office. Seon Joo’s work is loving and exceptionally executed.

Seon Joo’s beautiful watercolor captures my dog Nani’s spirit perfectly. Since my last walk with Nani five years ago, my heart had been carrying the loss of her. It was an abrupt and unexpected separation that I did not fully process with anyone. Through Seon Joo’s art, I was able to reconnect with my sorrow and replace it with appreciation for all the beauty and love Nani taught me. I finally was able to say a real good-bye to her who was my guard, companion, and teacher. Now, looking at the painting, my heart fills with joy. I am grateful for Seon Joo’s talents: both her painting skills as well as her deep compassion and empathy.
